Jake--5 DAYS til I leave!!!!!

 Hola Amigos,

I’m sorry it’s been so long. Not too much happened within the last few weeks, just more home MTC. I do leave for my mission next week on July 14th so if you’re wanting to come visit now is the time to do so. If you didn't hear, I got my temporary reassignment to Santa Rosa, CA and I can’t wait to be there. It’ll be very weird serving in a place I’ve lived near so long during my childhood, and all my California friends will be nice and close. For those who don’t know, I grew up in the Bay Area, and Santa Rosa is just above that area. It will feel like home! 

Some news...We added a few more people to our district so now we have 15 and it is very fun. I’m still the favorite in my own district as well as Hannah’s. Better twin I guess.

The gift of tongues is real guys. I’ve found myself saying things I never would have thought of in very good Spanish and it's like, Woah where did that come from? It’s crazy and I love teaching and I hope i'll be able to teach in person in Santa Rosa but we’ll see. It may be Facebook teaching for a while and that’s okay. 

The devotionals are very cool too. A lot of them talk about how the other missionaries and I were prepared to come at this time. That's powerful! Only a little bit of pressure put on me. I love this gospel even though I’m still learning all the in’s and outs. My testimony has grown so much throughout the MTC, even though I’m sitting in front of a computer all day, and even though I won’t meet my district for a long time, they’ve become some of my best friends.

Favorite scripture this week... Alma 32:21 "And now as I said concerning faith—faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things; therefore if ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true." 

I love this because life is so uncertain right now and this scripture reminds us that we don't have to have a perfect knowledge of anything, we just need to have hope and faith to get us through these troubling times.
