Hannah--Thanksgiving and Jasmin

 Hola Hola!

This was a good week!!! So many awesome memories and miracles! I hope you all had a wonderful week of Thanksgiving food and time with your families! This week's email will be a long one, hopefully you enjoy it if you read it ;)
We got a random text from the wife of a member who told us to go visit her husband in Tieton. They are members of the branch we serve in but they live about 25 minutes away! So we set up a time and drove out to Tieton to go visit him! Tieton is a huge apple town and is on the very edge of the Yakima Indian reservation! We were all a little scared, but we went inside and he immediately welcomed us in and said he has missed going to church and needed some light in his life. He gave us some apples and we were able to talk about Light the World with him. We were so glad that the wife reached out and told us to go see him!
We were finally able to get back into contact with Alvin. He has been working night shifts and is very very busy, but he said he had time and wanted a lesson. We had a lesson at the church and he told us that he hasn't been drinking coffee for a whole month! We haven't talked to him in about 2 weeks, so it was insane that he was still following that commitment! He said that he has felt a huge difference from doing this, and he wants to get baptized! He put himself on date in January!!! We are so excited for him!!!
Thanksgiving was great! A little different but still a special day! We were able to eat in the member's home and she made a pecan pie, which reminded me of my grandpa's that he would always make! It was so special to have a little bit of home <3 and speaking of a little bit of home, we went back over to Bonny Conforto's house and helped set up her Christmas tree! (Lehi 28th ward, she loves you all very much.)
Wednesday November 25, our beautiful friend Jasmin was baptized! She had texted us that morning and said "Today is the day ladies, I feel so much love in my heart." It was a wonderful night, and her father-in-law got to baptize and confirm her! She had the brightest smile, and was glowing the minute she came up out of the water, It was a feeling I'll never ever forget seeing her face light up. She has gone through so many trials in her life, and I admire her strength and willingness to follow Jesus Christ. I love her so much and I'm so grateful we are able to teach such an amazing and prepared daughter of Heavenly Father. To end the night, we all had pumpkin chocolate chip cookies after so it was a very special day!!!! :)
I'll finish it off here, but I just want to invite you all to participate in Light the World this year! This has been a very very difficult year for many people, so let's end the year by bringing in some light into each other's lives. Forget our differences and just love one another :)
